what was the biggest motorvation to quit smoking?

My 4 year old son (at the time) picked up a butt out of the ashtray and starting mimicking me.

I quit that day.

My uncle got lung cancer and even tried to commit suicide while undergoing chemotherapy sessions. He's in the hospital for the latter now. It seems painful.

Well idk if this helps but I convinced my mom and dad to quit smoking when I was in fifth grade and they haven't smoked in 4 years (:

Proof that eventually cancer was quite possible, heart and circulatory disease almost inevitable and the fact that it cost me the difference between running an old banger and a desireable car. Of my parent's generation all lifelong smokers I have known have died well before 70 of heart or circulatory disease.
