Recently quit smoking. Does this cause depression?

I have smoked 2 pks. daily for years. I quit 4 months ago using Chantex. I've been off Chantex for a couple months now. Does this cause depression, and if so is it situation depression or chemical depression?

Answers:

well all that smoking caused a chemical inbalance in your system. many of those things were causing an overload of things that the body produces naturally and when you do it for years your body stops producing those things. now that you took away the cigarettes too your body is still not producing it so that could be what is causing it.

You better believe it does. But, have no fear, it's situational. It'll pass. The first few days are pretty rough, but as time passes, you'll start feeling better everyday. After a couple of weeks, you'll feel fine again. Good job on the quit!! :-)
