How to quit smoking for good? Any tips?
Would like to do it with out medicine........
Answers:
Don't buy them anymore and stay away from people that smoke...Good Luck, you can do it.
Just decrease the amount of cigarettes you have gradually till you get used to having small amounts everyday,to just a few a week, then to non at all.If you start craving some just go a walk or get some chores done.
Cut down on your cigs gradually. The more you smoke the more nicotine the body needs. Start with smoking every hour for a while, then every 2 hours and so on. When you cut on the nicotine intake the less you will need to smoke. Hope it helps.
Hi Michelle-
Just answered a question about this so apologies for repeating myself...
Try http://quitsmokingmessageboard.com/
It's a forum- if you are into that kind of thing. Very good info- tips on NRT and going without. You can post an SOS if you feel that you are going to slip. Really helped me. I'm 13 days off cigarettes today. Went cold turkey and the first week was a toughie. I couldn't have done it without the support of the people on that site.
Good luck!

Watch "The Insider" Movie with Russell Crowe--It is a movie about a senior chemist who works for a cigarette company and decides to come forward to publicize the fact that the company he works for is enhancing cigarettes with stronger tweeking elements to keep the mind in a continuous urging state for the drug (Tobacco). If you have thought of quitting smoking lately then I urge you to see this movie. Force yourself to believe that the cigarrette companies are adding more and more tweeks to their cigarrette chemicals to keep you addicted and to keep your brain dependant on the chemicals inside the cigarettes. For all of the non-smokers who say "it's all in your mind"
THEY ARE CORRECT! . This writer could be wrong but his truth is a personal opinion and his opinion is that; todays cigarettes are being more and more chemically enhanced. I found myself somewhat unsatisfied with smoking. It seems that my lungs were just not getting enough and I found myself lighting up more often. Just ask yourself if you feel that you are finding yourself less and less satisfied with your tobacco intake lately. Do you feel you have been lighting up more often lately. If you find yourself less satisfied lately then maybe it's because perhaps there is some legitimacy to what I am opinionating here today.
I have been tobacco free for 3 months now and I must say that my body still craves the intake but I survive by telling my brain that my body does not need the chemicals that will make someone else rich while it makes my pocket poor and my body sick. This is my method of winning this game against the cigarette company who doesn't think, worry or care about me unless I stop buying cigarrettes. So far I have saved about $700 since I have quit smoking 3 months ago and I urge people to help our economy by helping your own pockets by quitting smoking and saving more money while at the same time saving your lungs. It is a rough ride and so I need more people to follow me. I truly feel the urges still -- and this is why I need your support.
Please follow me.
They say "Quitters Never Win" But in this case those words could not be further from the truth.
Be a quitter if you want to be a winner. Save money, save your lungs and save our children from the second hand smoke and asthma and just help to cut down the illnesses in your surroundings.
