How did you quit smoking cigarettes?

If you did. I have been smoking for five years and this is my second day off them and I'm going CRAZY. I mean, you don't realize how addicted you are to them till you don't have them. I have tried the gum and stuff, but it just isn't the same. Does anyone have any advice???

Just stop. it's not hard you just have to want to. I used to smoke cigarettes and marijuana for 17 years, and drank alcohol for 15 years. In June of 2008 I started having anxiety attacks, and as a result of it I quit all three cold turkey, and havn't touched any of them since. It's been a year and nine months. Smoke and Alcohol free, but I still have the Anxiety.

I had smoked 2 packs a day for 30 years! I had tried to quit numerous times to no avail. Finally, 4 years ago, I just made up my mind that this was it. I smoked my last cigarette on a Saturday morning and then threw the rest away. I used the nicotine patches for 2 weeks and that was it!!! I think you truly have to be ready to quit and it'll happen. Best of luck to you!!!!

I was a die hard smoker and ve gone through the same. Cold turkey is the most effective way.

The urge is strong but you must persist. With a strong will power I am positive you can make it.

Engage yourself in some activities to keep your mind away, Be persistent for another 3 to 4 days.

Be strong, a better life is ahead of you. My blessing to you.
