Will power.... If you're waiting for the "right time" it won't ever come.... It's an addiction so your mind will always try to find an excuse to keep doing it "I'm too stressed with work right now" "I'm worried about my kids school" "My mother is sick"....

I had a friend of mine who wanted to quit, we were driving back from the beach one day and she was telling me a detailed list of why she didn't quit before or why she quit but started again a week later... yadda yadda, I asked her if she wanted to quit. she said "yes" and i hucked the smokes out the window of my truck. It was worth the earful of vulgarity i got for doing it because she hasn't smoked since....

So I challenge you to just stop.... throw them out. It will be hard but you can do it. There is no easy way.

I have been smoke free for 4 months and I did it by using nicotine lozenges. My husband and I quit at the same time and he uses the gum (he liked the gum better) Anyway, I smoked for 15 years and had quit off and on and this is the longest I have gone. You should try either the gum, lozenge, or the patch. Good luck :)

A lot of clinics have free smoking cessation classes. Try them. Pray a lot, because most people fail the first time.

the good news is that i now have been quit for over 5 years.. i quit trying to quit alone, and joined a support group.. i attend nicotine anonymous meetings both locally and on line.. on line voice meetings are he as close as your computer, and you can attend while still smoking, before actually attempting a quit.. however you decide to quit good luck, there is simply no wrong way to quit!!
